Tea Time by thinkpastel Tea Time by thinkpastel
I was inspired to make a miniature teapot after I saw this adorable one. :giggle:
I originally intended to make a cinnamon roll () to go with the tea, but I didn't have enough time so I made the crappy cookies instead :shakefist:

Santa, please, bring me some spare time this Christmas! :D
Everything is handmade in a 1:6 scale :giggle:

this is a really great work you have. I never knew that clay could be crafted to look as close to the real object as this. suppose you don't put in the second pic, I'd probably mistake it as a photograph instead. -shrug-

I really like the teapot and teacup in particular. the dots made them look more interesting and the cookies simply make me hungry. I really like the varieties in the cookies, too. the colors on top of the cookies are also nice combined with the whole tea set.

overall, great work. thanks for such cute and detailed design you simply introduced to me. thanks too for such bright colors you used. reminded me of nice mornings spent with a cup of tea. I also took a slight peek of your gallery and just wanted to note that all your works are just beautiful. I had some hard time telling which are clay and which are real. haha. you sure have a great skill there. good luck on your next works! ;)

How did you make the teacup and teapot so perfectly and smooth? I try so hard but it always fails. And it's hard to keep white clay clean.. Do you have a tutorial or something?

I always use lots of baby powder (on my workspace, hands and clay itself) to prevent dust and hairs to stick on the clay.
Once the clay is baked and cooled down, I sand it with fine sandpaper to even out any imperfection :giggle:

Is the liquid inside the teacup TLS and acrylic paint? :O

Fimo Liquid and chalks, but yeah the concept is basically the same and you can achieve a similar result with TLS and paint (although oil paint is better than acrylic paint) ;)
