I wanted to make something for #semi-sweeties's May's challenge (Fancy Fruits) - I'm working on a whole fruits basket (WIPs here and here)- but since I'm afraid I won't finish it in time, here's a little.. uhm, appetizer?

A quick tutorial showing how I make 1:6 pears!

This is my second attempt at making a video tutorial

and please forgive the bad quality, I shot this on an awfully windy day

Wow, I never thought of making pears like that! _{Usually I use pastels.}

I used to use chalks and pastels as well; lately I've been using acrylic paints more and more. I feel like I have more 'control' over the results, if I paint on hardened clay as I don't have to worry about squeezing/deforming it

I also think you can achieve a lot more 'textures' using paint and brushes/sponges. Chalks, however, are much better for 'soft' shadings - like for bread etc
